Update on Micah...

Here are some more updates from Micah's parents...please continue to pray for this young man and his dear family. We ache with them but we also HOPE with them, we hope in Jehovah Jireh...the Lord our wonderful Healer! Join with us in lifting them up before God's throne of grace. Thanks so much!!

Dale is taking a much need nap and Micah is resting comfortably with his eye patches on. It is easier for him to breathe today and he had a good night sleep last night. As much of his energy is being used to breathe on his own, he has had to slow down in other areas, especially moving. But every time they turn him, he stretches the full length of the bed and it makes us all smile.

It seems like today will be a whisper day, “And behold the Lord was passing by! And a great strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind, an earthquake but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake, a fire but the Lord was not in the fire and after the fire a sound of gentle blowing.” I Kings 19:11-12

I feel God today in the “gentle blowing” of Micah’s tracheotomy mist, Dale’s breathing, Micah’s respirations, and the Holy Spirit responding to our prayers whispered and spoken for Micah. May we all continue to trust the gentle healing hand of our Jehovah God as we wait in amazement and anticipation of our Lord passing by!

Wishing I could rock and hold Micah in my arms today, Sherrie

Micah has an eye infection. The left one is very irritated. He is getting antibiotic eye cream for it. He breathed on his own for 11 hours today and sat in a special “cardiac chair” for two hours. He tolerated it all very well. We think he wanted to impress his football coach who came up to visit him today. He had his game face on all day and then Mom had enough and asked for a rest for him. Now he is resting peacefully with the ventilator on and eye patches.

It was a harder day for me emotionally as I could tell he was working so hard and was uncomfortable. We are trusting in an invisible God to do visible things. Psalms 84:7”They go from strength to strength, every one of them appears before God in Zion”.

Today I felt like I went from strength to strength that God provided for me, my Dad buying me lunch, amazing nurses, visitors that prayed with us; one met me in the hall and she was fasting and praying. She prayed for me and then for Micah. My boys and Dale all gathered around Micah’s bed asking God to heal their brother, respiratory therapists, omelets and coffee delivered to our room. I just went through the day taking care of Micah and our family, going from strength to strength. Like Psalms 84:7 says, I pray that every one of you appears before our God in strength, as you have blessed me beyond words. Thanks for your strength.

Last night Micah rested very comfortably. He was very tired from breathing on his own all day. They put him on breathing support last night. Now this morning he is back breathing on his own again. He will do this until about 8:00 PM this evening. The LORD encourages us to "fight" for him. His movements continue to improve slowly. As a parent it is never fast enough, but we are greatly encouraged by his slow but steady progress and the great care he receives here at the hospital. He is still in his coma and we are awaiting the time that he becomes more alert.

Looking unto Jesus today,

Dale
