A Weekend to Remember!! :)

Hey y'all! :)

Joel and I just got back from the Family Life Marriage conference...A Weekend to Remember! We had a FABULOUS time and would highly recommend it to everyone...look for it in your area and GET THERE, that would be our advice. :) It goes from Friday evening til Sunday evening and is SO WORTH every minute. Dear friends of ours really encouraged us to go and even helped us financially get there! And my wonderful parents watched the kids for us! We THANK all of them from the bottom of our hearts!!
What a special time it was to first of all get away from the hustle and bustle of life in general...and second have the time and opportunity to be together and talk about US, God, the kids, etc. After the year that we've had, Joel and I really were thirsty for this kind of opportunity! And baby, we soaked it ALL up. We discovered so much about ourselves, each other and God's AWESOME plan and purpose for our Divine assignments as husband/wife and father/mother, etc. Light bulbs were going off in our hearts and truths were clicking, some for the first time in our married lives!
So GO...if it's near you and you can go, GO!!!! I mean it, GO!! :) You'll be SO thankful you did!

Too bad, they don't have one in Russia...

but I see they have one in Hawaii- that'll do!!!!

So glad you had a weekend together. I love those kind of getaways, especially ones where you learn something too that you can take home with you.

I found you by googling a weekend to remember as I am considering attending a conference. So you enjoyed the conference and thing it could help a troubled marriage?

What did you think of the conference?

Hi, Kim...glad you were able to find my post about the conference. My husband and I have been married for 7 1/2 years and the year leading up to the conference had been one of our toughest years ever. I would recommend this conference to EVERYONE, no matter what state your marriage is in. They really make a point of that too in the meetings, recognizing that some couples are just engaged, some are newlyweds, some are happily married, married for a long time or are on "life-support". I would go, definitely...it will be worth the time and money to get there. Be open and allow God to speak to YOUR heart instead of looking for Him to change your hubby! Just some useful advice! :) Let me know if you have any more questions! I tried to look your blog up but it isn't listed under your profile.
Hope this helps!!

Oh. I'm totally new at this and am trying to figure out how to start one! I'm definitely considering and praying for the money to go as well as my husbands willingness! :)

Where was the one that you went to?

How was it different then counseling?

Thanks,

Kim

No worries, Kim!
I am perfectly fine with communicating with you via comments! :) We went to the one held at King of Prussia in PA. It was really nice, we didn't stay at the hotel where the conf was held (it was booked, plus it was alot more $ than just finding your own in the area).
Here's the thing...the conference had about a couple hundred other couples and there were two couples that were the speakers. So if your husband isn't keen on the idea of a one on one "counseling" setting, then this conf. is the thing for you! It is not your sit and spill your guts to strangers...at all! There are projects for you and your husband to talk through and work through. We found them very helpful and gave us the springboard to discuss many things we hadn't talked about before.
About the finances, you might try calling and seeing if there is any financial help available to those who are tight financially. It's worth a try!
Feel free to write again if you have any more thoughts or questions, Kim!

Thanks for the insight! I put some info up about me but not a whole lot as I'm a little uneasy since everyone and anyone can access! I will try that approach of calling and asking for financial help, that is a great idea! The conference sounds wonderful and it seems to have changed so many lives. I am really hopeful that my husband will agree to go, God will provide the money for it, and our marriage will be changed!

Thanks!

Hi again Kim!
I totally understand about not wanting to put up too much info on your blog. I'll be praying that if it's what God has for y'all, that He will make a way for you and your husband to attend. My hubby is not "into" these types of things but when it was all over, he was a different man and he said it was the best thing he'd ever done...he wants us to go back every year! :) Not all stories are happy endings from the conf. but I do believe that going is a wonderful START to enhancing or aiding not only your marriage but your relationship with God and for me, it was as a Mom. God bless and please let me know if you have any more questions...or let me know how it all works out! Praying for you...blessings...Kari

Hey Kim!
Great to hear from you again...that is AWESOME! So glad that God worked things out for you and your husband to go. Just relax and enjoy your time...try not to set the bar of expectations for each other too high. Just go with open ears and hearts to hear what God has to say to YOU! Wish you all the best...let me know what you think! God bless, Kari
