Wordless Wednesday

These picts certainly need NO explanation but I'll just add that this is one of the traditions I look forward to MOST every year!! Thanks to my gracious Momma, we have seen Kenny in concert THREE times....every single time it has been AWESOME!!! The best thing is just being with 'the girls'....I never wanted nothin' more!!! xoxo

The challenge this week was FAMILY...oooh, how convienient...that is one of my VERY FAV. things in the whole world!!! :D

We had an awesome visit with my Uncle and his girlfriend this Memorial Day...complete with Alex's baseball game, snowcones, Maryland CRAB feast, cookouts, to the movies to see Star Trek and lots of sleeping in!!!! :)

A Book Review

At the Scent of Water by Linda Nichols is one of the best fiction novels I have read in a very long time! You might recall I did a book review on her more recent novel, In Search of Eden, which I loved however ~ At the Scent of Water is even better. A definite MUST READ in my opinion, a 10 out of 10!

I was drawn in by this compelling and heart wrenching story of a family who experiences the pain of loss, burden of bitterness, freedom of forgiveness and reconciliation and the joy of love. Incredibly, this story hit very close to home for me. I could so identify with the very same questions the couple in the story faced...the "whys" of life and the struggle to believe that God is good in the face of unspeakable tragedy. As I read this novel, the tears flowed as well as the laughter and hope renewed.

Linda Nichols is one of the most gripping authors I have ever read. The tale she weaves is brightly varied as it is full of texture and depth. You cannot help but find yourself in the midst of the story, not just reading her words but feeling them as well. Check this novel out from the library, borrow it or buy it...just READ IT, you won't be sorry. Then come back here and thank me!!! :D Happy Reading!!

I'm gonna be a little busy today...I've got the day off to spend with my Mom and sister AND tonite ~ well, we're gonna see KENNY CHESNEY in concert!!!! AACCKKK!!!!

Here's to keeping tradition alive...this will be our 3rd time seeing KC, sweet mercy!!!

American Idol top 3

It comes down to 3...I just finished watching the recorded episode of last night's FINAL THREE! Hmm, slightly disappointing but overall good. It was Judges' Choice and Contestant's Choice. I wait with baited breath to find out WHO is in the FINAL.........tonite! Here we go!

Danny GOkey - (Judges Choice) - Dance Little Sister. Ok, NEVER heard of this song but it was a super fun performance. Not his best certainly but what up, Paula?? I actually like the little jazz sax solo in the middle. Nice.

(Personal Choice) - You Are So Beautiful. He is lookin' FINE first of all. Ok, I am kinda bored by this song....at first I'm like eck. But then it kinda grows on me, by the end I'm pretty sold. I'm not sure that is what I would have chosen for him but the judges are happy so who knows?? I still wonder what kind of cd he would put out. VOTED for a hour and a half.

Kris Allen - (Judges Choice) - Apologize. First of all, I have issue with the home town clip where it looks like Kris is wearing blue nail polish?? Oh say it isn't so!! Oi. K. I really really liked this performance. Clean pure and simple. Very nice.

(Personal Choice) - Heartless. Wow, interesting choice for him! Same thing, at first I was like what? but then I was like hmm, pretty slick choice and perfect arrangement for him. Loved his spin on this song. Excellent.

Adam Lambert - (Judges Choice) - One. I really like this song, he performed it well. I even like the change up of key mid-song. Nice.

(Personal Choice) - Crying. Ah, here we go! The Rocker lives. This was good too, not too terribly screamy for me. Good job. Tough choice America.

Ok, we'll see who goes tonite......I know who my vote was for!!! How bout y'all??

This week's challenge was Expression. The first thing I think of is my cherub's funny faces...she is forever coming up with a new face to make us laugh til we pee!! :) The others are from one very soggy morning after days of rain, we finally got a respite. The beauty of these blooms were contrasted with the gray sky. I loved the raindrops dripping everywhere off the blooms.
