Ultimate Blog Party 2008

Welcome to Just Another Day in Paradise!

This is where the PARTY is at in this corner of bloggyland...y'all come on in and make yourself comfortable, I'm so glad you could join me! :) A gerber daisy for each of my special blog-party-guests...since it's my FAV flower and you can never receive too many flowers!

What's a party without some goodies?! Y'all help yourself to a soda of your choice and of course a yummy chocolate chip cookie while you browse around my little blog!

A little bit about ME (Kate is a nickname)...I am a 29 year old daughter of the King, who is also a happily married mother of 2 cherubs! I've been privileged to walk with Jesus for 19 years and grow more in love with Him each passing year. My husband and I have been married for 9 years this July and they have been the happiest and most exciting years of my life! We have a son (Alex) who will be 7 in June and a daughter (Chloe) who will be 5 in July. They are truly the bright spots in our day and the apple of our eyes.

For the first 7 years of our married lives, we were missionaries with New Tribes Mission. We were blessed to live and work in Madang, Papua New Guinea for 1 1/2 years. Our time spent in Madang was extraordinary and we have many fond memories of great friends and great experiences there! Through a variety of circumstances, God brought us home and we resigned from NTM. From that point, we have begun our lives as a family anew and afresh. Our journey the past 2 years has not been easy, however we have been knit closely together as a family and our relationship with our heavenly Father has become more real and more intimate. I have rediscovered the truth that Christ is my life and He loves me unconditionally!

BTW ~ Things I love (just for fun) ~

I love JESUS!

I love my family and friends (love to meet NEW friends!)

I love to talk (can talk the hind leg off a donkey)

I love the beach, sunshine and flip flops'

I love to curl up with a good book and get lost for a while

I love to go to the movies (chick flicks rule but will be up for an ape tape with hubby!)

I love the smell of spring, fresh cut grass and clean sheets

I love to go antiquing...you could call my decor style "antique country"

I would love to live in the south

I LOVE jewelry!!

I love Target, NY & Co, Starbucks, and Olive Garden

About my Blog Name...Just Another Day in Paradise...is a song by Phil Vassar and YES, it's a country song!! :) I may live in a state that is northern in culture but I am a southerner by heart! I heard this song and thought it was a perfect fit for my title. It's a story about a family who in the daily circumstances of life they find that they are living in paradise because they are living and loving together. I think we take so much for granted ~ our lives, our loved ones, our freedom, our health, our country. We don't know how many days God has granted us so instead of complaining I'm choosing to be thankful for each new day I get to live and love on this earth!

So that's it for now...enjoy browsing around! I have lots of neat stuff on my sidebar you might want to check out if you have time. Most importantly is Chloe's story of how God is turning tradegy into triumph day by day in our family.

Bye for now...see you around bloggyland!! Thanks for coming! :)

At the 5M4M Blog Party, there are TONS of prizes being offered...

My choices would be:

#7 ~ the elemental memories necklace

#32 ~ the living the dream mom t-shirt

#147 ~ the triple metal earrings

or these #48, #24, #116, #129, #107 if the above are taken! :) Or anything jewelry, books or gift cards to Starbucks/Amazon. Thanks!!

I found you through the blog party. My husband & I attended New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, graduating in 2004. However, we did not continue on in the training, as God had other plans for us. It's nice to meet another "New Triber"!

We also have a daughter named Chloe, who is 6 months...as well as two older girls. I'll be visiting your blog again! It was nice to "meet" you!

Yes, I am a "at risk teachers aide".
What I do is help students that are at risk of failing a subject or failing the grade level they are in. I give them extra attention and encourage them to do their homework and help them with their work when they don't understand. I also help them study for tests that are coming up. I also work with ELL students and I have In-School-Suspension. This is to keep students in school instead of out-of- school suspension. They can still receive out of school suspension depending on what they did and the punishment that is required for that. Hope this helps. If you have more questions let me know.

Enjoyed the lovely picture of your family.....your daughter is beautiful. God is good, even in the tough times as evidenced by your daughter's tragedy.
