Our first "side trip"

Just down the road a bit from the base was an old airstrip that the Japanese used during WW II. All alongside the airstrip were big bomb craters and tucked back into the jungle was an old Japanese bomber. A few weeks after we arrived in Madang, some friends took us out to see this...it was pretty dang cool!! :)
