A Book Review + My 1st Giveaway!

I am just TICKLED PINK I tell ya...tickled PINK!!  Anyone who knows me at all knows that I am a total Book Lover, it is one of my very favorite pastimes.  It's one of the reasons that I love it when Katrina does her reading challenges in the fall and spring cause it forces me to make a list and make time to READ.

So I've done quite a few reviews on my blog and always thought, man I'd L.O.V.E. to do a Book Review for these companies and publishers that are looking to generate some buzz about their books.  Well, what do you know but a week or so ago someone wrote and asked me to do...a BOOK REVIEW!  This is why I'm tickled pink!  :D

A lovely lady from Phenix & Phenix Literary Publicists emailed and asked me to do a review of two children's Christmas books!!  And to top it off, one of them is by my all time fav author, Karen Kingsbury.  It's my pleasure and honor to do a review of one of Karen's books.

This is my review of the wonderful book called 'We Believe in Christmas' by Karen Kingsbury.

We Believe in Christmas is a timeless classic that you will most definitely want to add to your children's library!  Karen beautifully shares what the real meaning of Christmas is in a poetic manner that will capture the hearts and minds of children of all ages.  The masterful illustrations are a perfect addition to the beauty of this delightful and spiritually deep book.

My 5 year old daughter loved it and I know it will be a fast favorite in our household!  I'll leave you with my favorite quote from 'We Believe in Christmas'...

"For we believe in Christmas, and together you and me
will always find our Christmas if it's Jesus that we keep."

Oh, wait...it gets even better!!  The wonderful people from Phenix and Phenix Literary Publicists gave me an EXTRA copy of We Believe in Christmas to GIVEAWAY!!!  It's my VERY FIRST GIVEAWAY...I  know, right??!  How great is that y'all?  I'm just a tiny bit excited!

So, all YOU have to do for me is leave me a comment...tell me what is your family's favorite Christmas tradition.  Easy right?  I will select a winner using Random.org.

This giveaway will end on November 10th @ 8 p.m.  Please make sure you leave me your email address so that I can get in contact with you should you be the winner!  :)  Yay, so comment away!

Jeb and I always wrap the kids presents after they have gone to bed on Christmas Eve. So nice to sit by the fire drinking coffee and get everything ready! Karen Kingsbury is one of my favorites too and her books with "Kari" in them always make me thing of you :)

Well, number one never ever gets picked by those random things, but someone has to go first :) I'll just add this to my Christmas wish list!

KK is my ABSOLUTE fave author. In fact, in our currently BROKE state, she is the only author I'll plunk down bucks to read. I just finished Sunset. I loved it. I cried. I laughed. I cried. And her book of adoption miracles? OY, don't get me started. . . .

I love to read Christmas books that focus on the reason for the season; the birth of Jesus Christ. In my family, we honor a typical Norwegain tradition of celebrating on Christmas Eve. We gather together at home in front of the fireplace and tree.

My family starts Christmas Eve with candlelight service. When I get home from work, we have a dessert and open our presents. Christmas day starts with my 3 teenagers coming to our room and opening their stockings (still a highlight for them) we bake a cake for Jesus' birthday and head out to spend time with family. The cake is very important as we are the only christians at my families and we try to remind everyone why we are celebrating this special day.

My family's favorite holiday tradition is going out to look at the Christmas light displays together before Christmas. We also enjoy doing our Advent Calendar each night.

Thanks for the entry. I saw this book online the other day, and thought it looked really good.
