Spring Reading Thing 2007 ~Here we go! :)

(some of My "stack")

Ok, ya'll...it's HERE!! :) Today is the kick-off for the Spring Reading Thing 2007, hosted by Katrina at Callapidder Days. And I am SO EXCITED...reading is definitely one of my most favoritest things to do. Course since becoming a Mommy, my reading time has become more limited but that's why I'm so stinking excited about the "SRT"...it gives me the motivation to get to that stack of books that have been calling my name forever!! :) I've got goosebumps, ya'll...can you tell??! ;)

So here's my list...it may be a tad bit optimistic but hey, that's the way I am! I've picked 10 books total, 7 Fiction and 5 Non-fiction (to start). We'll see how I do so...Drumroll please... :)

Fiction:
Books from my shelf~
A Perilous Proposal by Michael Phillips

The Soldier's Lady by Michael Phillips

Never Too Late by Michael Phillips
(these are books #1-3 of the Carolina Cousins series)

A Time to Dance by Karen Kingsbury

New books I'm trying out~
SAHM I am by Meredith Efken

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbar Kingsolver

Gods in Alabama by Joshilyn Jackson

Non-Fiction:
Books from my shelf~
Get Out of That Pit by Beth Moore (started this and going to finish it!) :)

Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs (started this and going to finish it!) :)

A Mother's Heart by Jean Fleming (started this and going to finish it!) :)

Captivating by John and Stasi Elderedge (started this and going to finish it!) :)

Grace Based Parenting by Dr. Tim Kimmel

Now, doesn't THIS sound EXCITING???!!! Why don't ya join us in reading this spring, no pressure...read what you can, what you want, when you want and how much you want! It'll be FUN girls!! :)

Oooh, another Karen Kingsbury I haven't read yet!! I'm reading the Firstborn series as part of the challenge. I'd like to read Grace Based Parenting some time as well.

Kari--I want to read "Captivating" and "A mother's heart"--can't wait to hear what you think.
And as for my "intellectual" reads: I am using the challenge to finish up all those unfinished books I have lying around, so I can get to all the "fluff" I want to read...I am disciplining myself!!:)
Blessings, friend!

That Karen Kingsbury is a good one and now she's got a second to go with it. Michael Phillips is one of my faves and I haven't read these ones yet. I'll have to add them. Grace Based Parenting is on my list too! All sounds good. Happy reading.

I'm optimistic too ;)

Funny how some books (that aren't necessarily new or hip) are showing up on lots of lists--two more of us have Grace Based Parenting on the list, and I've seen Poisonwood Bible on a couple (I liked that book), and several also have a Tree Grows in Brooklyn, which is on my list. Funny.

Captivating...is just as it says, but so much more. It is a quick read, but it really makes you think about things.

I have had the poisonwood bible for a while and haven't been able to get into it. Your review will be helpful.
