Mama Mia's Pizza Recipe

This weekend we had lovely friends over for dinner...it is a long standing tradition in our household that on Fridays we have PIZZA! In kindness to our budget, I started making our pizza from scratch (I'm Mama Mia). Everyone seems to not want to go hungry love it, so I thought I would share this really easy and yummy recipe. :)

Pizza Dough recipe (can be used to make Stromboli as well):
1 1/2 tbsp of dry active yeast
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Combine yeast, warm water and sugar. Mix lightly. Drizzle olive oil on top of yeast mixture so that it floats. Yeast should stand for 10-15 minutes and be bubbly on top before use. (don't leave it too long like I did and the stuff darn near overflowed the bowl!!)

When your yeast mix is ready, add flour gradually. Knead until dough is soft and the flour is blended thoroughly. Turn out dough onto a lightly greased pizza pan or whatever pan you prefer. Press and spread dough to the edges of the pan.

**This is what I do to my dough** When the dough is spread out, I drizzle some olive oil over the whole thing and spread it with a bakers brush. Then I sprinkle garlic powder, Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning all over the dough.

Spread your pizza sauce of choice over dough. Add ingredients: green pepper (might want to nuke your pepper in the microwave for a bit to soften them), onion, mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, cheese, etc.

Put in oven for about 15 minutes @ 400 deg F. Check on it, y'all to make sure it isn't burning...nobody like a toasty pizza...well, I don't anyways! ;) That's it...really easy to do, if I can do it...honey so can you!!

Happy and FULL campers at our house...
like the ORANGE mustaches from the soda?? :)
Aren't they the cutest?!!
